World Water Day 2026 commemoration
March 22, 2026INMACOM Executive Secretary Sindy Mthimkhulu today attended the Post-Flood Water Resources Symposium 2026: Challenges and Perspectives, convened by the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources in Maputo. INMACOM was specifically invited to the event by the Minister, His Excellency, Fernando Rafael.
This high-level dialogue brings together policymakers, academics, engineers, and strategic partners to address the impacts of the 2025/2026 floods on Mozambique’s river basins and critical infrastructure. Key discussions focused on early warning systems, structural resilience, regional cooperation, and financing mechanisms.
Beyond technical contributions, INMACOM proudly supported the symposium with event t-shirts and banners, reinforcing its commitment to visibility, engagement, and collective ownership of solutions.
This support reflects INMACOM’s dedication to strengthening hydrological risk management, advancing regional collaboration, and ensuring inclusive approaches to water governance across Southern Africa.
Together, we are building a future where communities are safer, infrastructure is more resilient, and water resources are managed sustainably in the face of climate change.
